Matar Poha Recipe How to Make Matar Poha (Green Pea Poha)

Ingredients for Matar Poha Recipe:

  • 1 cup pressed rice
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 2 finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (Hing)
  • salt as required
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • water as required
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 green chilli finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon coriander leaves finely chopped


How to Make Matar Poha (Green Pea Poha)

  1. Rinse poha in water and strain it. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame and add asafoetida and mustard seeds in it. Saute for a few seconds and then add curry leaves along with chopped chillies in it. Saute the ingredients for another few seconds .
  3. Then add peas to it and fry them for 2 minutes.
  4. Then add chopped onions to the pan, fry till they turn golden brown in colour.
  5. Add the washed poha in the pan. Quickly, add turmeric powder and salt in the pan and stir to mix all the ingredients for a minute. Add a little water in the pan and cover with a lid. Allow the flavours to get absorbed in the matar poha.
  6. Turn off the flame and add lemon juice and coriander leaves. Mix well.
  7. Cover the pan for 2 minutes. Serve with tea, coffee or Juice.
